The new annals of the Civil War
(Book)
The four-volume Battles and Leaders of the Civil War remains one of the all time best-selling works ever published on the War between the States. First released in 1887, it provided the American public with an absolute treasure trove of articles written by many of the leading figures of the war, along with a visual feast of drawings and paintings by some of the era's most popular artists. Much of the content for this seminal collection was first published serially in Century Magazine.
