Starting with Pissarro, the Impressionists are arranged chronologically -- Manet, Whistler, Degas, Cezanne, Monet, Renoir, Cassatt, and Van Gogh, followed by the Post-Impressionists -- Gauguin, Seurat, and Toulouse-Lautrec; the volume is rounded out with two outstanding figures from other art forms, the writer Zola and the composer Debussy.
