Alexander Macdonell in a studio photograph taken with two of his sisters in Scotland. Alex (called Ack or Ackie by his family), was born November 16, 1882, in Beauly, Scotland. He emigrated to the United States and was employed on the Frank Doll ranch in the Gypsum valley. He then leased land on the Geo. Wilkinson ranch on Brush Creek.
