Buildings in Dotsero, from left:
Delco Light Company, which used a gasoline engine to charge batteries. It was a 32 volt light plant after World War II.
Cafe between the Light Company and the Dotsero Drug Company, which may also have been a bar. There were two bars in Dotsero during the railroad years.
Dotsero Drug Company at far right, providing service to railroad construction workers and their families.

Mr. and Mrs. Calvick are posed in a doorway wearing coats and hats. They owned Calvick Cafe in Eagle, Colorado (listed in the 1935 Eagle Valley Telephone Company with phone number 25-F3).

10) Virginia Alvord

Virginia Ann Burk Beam Alvord "made Eagle her home for many years, and operated restaurants in various locations of Eagle from the early days until during the '30s." [Eagle Valley Enterprise, July 31, 1969] She died in Colorado Springs July 28, 1969, just 18 days after her 91st birthday, while living with a daughter.
11) Dotsero cafe

A cafe next to the Dotsero Drug Company, one of the buildings left from the railroad boom at Dotsero. There are two men seated outside the cafe. It probably also functioned as one of two bars in town (the other was located on Riverside Way on the river bank). The photo was printed April 2, 1933.

Williams Café and Bar in the winter of 1940-1941. The Williams Café was located at 101 Main Street in Minturn. At one time, it was managed by Herbert Dunwiddie. David and Marie (Ruder) Williams were former owners. The Williams Café eventually closed and became Chili Willy's. Chili Willy's closed in 2010. Magustos restaurant now occupies the building. The Minturn water tower is visible in the background on the right.
