Looking toward right abutment from axis sta. 7+75. Le Tourneaus are seen excavating additional cut-off trench in center of picture, and placing the material directly into the fill in the old river channel in the foreground.
Embankment placing in old river channel, where operations are being concentrated at present. The No. 3 section is seen in foreground grading into the downstream No. 2 section near rock-rake and trucks.
Looking downstream in outlet conduit from sta. 6+75. The conduit is being covered with 3 feet of loose earth to protect it from freezing. The earth is being placed by the contractor and will be removed in the spring, at his own expense. Refer to Pine R - 97.
Looking along center-line of cut-off trench toward left abutment, from a point opposite sta. 27+50. The location and angel of view is approximately the same as to Pine R - 32, 39, and 55.

Looking downstream in outlet conduit from sta. 6+25. Completed excavation for trashrack structure in foreground; grout mixer and pump near center; concrete chute at right.
