2. Owens Store

Man and girl standing on the boardwalk under the roof overhang of the Owens Store (the original Avon Store) in Avon, Colorado. Advertising signs: "Hills Bros. Coffee," chocolates, visible. Screen door is open; front door closed. Could be either snowing or raining. The store was located 100 feet west of the Avon Road on the north side of Highway 6. It was relocated and restored to the Eagle museum center in 1996. Date is noted as Oct. 15, 1928.

6. Early Gypsum

Early Gypsum where tents provided original services: hotel, stores, saloon, restaurant. Meals at the Eagle Hotel were 35 cents, a bed was 25 cents. All of these services were located across from the train depot. The location is close to present day Railroad Ave. and Second Street.

7. The Wymans

Santa Claus seated on a truck in front of Clooney's Store in 1935. Nina Baldauf and John Caddy are on the truck. Oscar Meyer is one of the men next to the truck. Children are grouped around the truck and there are people in the apartment above Clooney's looking down on the scene.

Five boys in potato sacks, racing down the main street of Red Cliff, Colorado, as part of the July 4, 1919, festivities. Bystanders line the sidewalks and stand in the street. Visible are the J. W. Dowd Mercantile Co. warehouse and the Short ORder Restaurant. The American flag is hanging as a banner over the street.
