This picture was taken in Fort Collins of Mr. and Mrs. Gardner R. Cushing of Englewood. Their son Colbert B. Cushing is riding in the front.

Bob (Robert) Haddow is the driver of the cart. He was returning from delivering lumber when he saw his daughter and her friends and offered them a ride.

The view is to the east just north of Bates between Elati and Delaware. The three children in the front with the dog are Irma, Mary Grace and Earl Baudy. The other two children are unidentified.

This photo shows the planting of the first trees, as well as the construction of some of the tent cottages at Swedish Hospital. Seated on the wagon seat, holding the horse reins is Charles John Sandell. His son, Erwin Charles Sandell, then about 12 yrs. old, is seated on the edge of the wagon at the back wheel. Dr. Charles A Bundsen, founder of Swedish Hospital, is wearing the white scarf and is seated on the ground second from the left.

The view is to the Northwest. The property belonged to H.T. Whitaker. Just to the left is now Belleview Park.
