Jacob Jones was mayor of Englewood from 1903-1906. Englewood was incorporated on May 13, 1903. It's original city limits were Breene (now Quincy), Yale, the railroad and Clarkson. In a hotly contested election, Jacob C. Jones, pledging "good government" narrowly defeated Thomas J. Skerritt and became the new city's first Mayor.
